At Protos we recognise that our people are the core to our success.
Many of our employees have worked with us for decades and their knowledge of our flexible packaging films, our processes, products and the needs of our customers is unrivalled. Our people know that they all have a vital role to play in providing our customers with the highest standards of service in our industry and share our vision for building partnerships with our customers and suppliers alike.
John – Operations Manager
As Operations Manager I have to ensure the experienced production team have all the tools to get orders completed by delivery date agreed with the customer. We work in a fast paced environment where everyone has to play a part from Stores to Production to Despatch. The team are really customer focused and will do what ever it takes to achieve the best quality products for our customers.
Carol – Commercial Administrator
Our customers rely on delivery dates being met and one of my key roles working in the sales office is to liaise with Production and Despatch to ensure everything is on schedule. If there are problems anywhere in the system that will affect deliveries, then it’s important for the sales team to know the details so that we can keep the customer fully informed. I’ve worked at Protos for over 18 years and regard many of our regular customers as friends.
Amanda – Quality Manager
Maintaining the BRC Global Packaging Standard is an important objective for the Company and a big part of my job is in conducting audits to ensure that we’re complying to the letter. I’m also involved in raw material ordering and providing administrative support to many areas of the business, from customer service to sourcing engineering parts – I love it!
Mark – Flexographic Printer
I’m responsible for printing our packaging films, which are then converted into reels, sheets, and bags. Printed packaging allows our customers to brand their products, which gives them a competitive edge. I’ve been printing for fourteen years and enjoy using my expertise to achieve the best quality of print possible.
Pam – Despatch Manager
It’s my job to prepare customers’ orders for despatch, from one box right up to multiple pallets. I’m always busy as there are lots of orders to get ready every day and we have to be able to react quickly if a customer wants a last-minute order to go out that day. I keep on top of our stocks of standard items – and make sure our carriers turn up when they are supposed to. There’s never a dull moment!
Mark – Senior Factory Engineer
As a customer-led company, a large part of my work is spent developing and modifying our existing machinery and investigating new investment to keep up with our customers’ needs for innovative new products. After a development project, it’s rewarding to see the finished product – like a novel perforation pattern or new form of bag construction – and know we’ve done our best for the customer.
Tim – Senior Production Operative
I have worked in the slitting and multi-perforating section at Protos for sixteen years and am responsible for converting finished rolls, both plain and perforated to different hole patterns. I use my expertise and knowledge to train new operators so they are quickly up to speed on how to produce the standards of quality our customers expect.
